About Us

Who we are, where we operate from, and how we work with growers, distributors and importers.

NutriFer Agro supplies fertilizers from El Ejido, in the province of Almería, southern Spain. We work with growers, distributors and importers buying anything from a pallet to a container — and who want a supplier that will discuss the technical detail before quoting a price.

Where we are, and why it matters

El Ejido sits at the centre of one of the most concentrated areas of protected horticulture anywhere in the world. Tens of thousands of hectares of greenhouses in Almería produce vegetables for markets across Europe and beyond, and that production happens on calcareous soils, with hard irrigation water, under intensive fertigation.

That environment is a demanding place to learn about plant nutrition. Iron deficiency is not a textbook concept here; it is a routine management problem. Bicarbonate in irrigation water is not a footnote; it determines which chelate will actually work. Calcium delivery to fruit is not a theory; it is the difference between marketable and unmarketable tomatoes.

Growers in California, Queensland, São Paulo and the Almería plain face versions of the same problems. The crops and the regulations differ, the underlying chemistry does not.

What we stock

The range is deliberately short. Eight products, each one chosen because it does a specific job in a programme, rather than a catalogue of everything that exists.

  • Agricultural grade urea 46% — the highest-analysis solid nitrogen source, and the backbone of most nitrogen programmes.
  • Technical grade urea — the same molecule to a tighter specification, for resins, adhesives and industrial processes.
  • NPK 15-15-15 — the balanced granular compound for base dressing at sowing.
  • NPK 20-20-20 + TE — fully water soluble with trace elements, for fertigation and foliar use.
  • NPK 23-5-15 + TE — high nitrogen for establishment and canopy building.
  • NPK 11-8-34 + TE — high potassium for fruit fill, when nitrogen should be tapering.
  • Calcium nitrate — readily available calcium plus nitrate nitrogen, against blossom end rot and bitter pit.
  • Potassium sulfate — chloride-free potassium with sulphur, for sensitive crops and saline conditions.

Between them these cover a full season: a balanced base dressing, nitrogen through vegetative growth, a shift to potassium at fruit set, and calcium running continuously underneath. If something outside that range is what you actually need, tell us — we would rather say so than sell you something adjacent.

How we work with buyers

Every enquiry starts with the same three questions: what are you growing, what does your water look like, and where does the product need to arrive? Those answers determine the grade, the packaging and the shipping arrangement, and quoting before knowing them tends to waste everyone’s time.

From there:

  1. Specification. We confirm the grade and analysis you need, and send the current specification sheet.
  2. Logistics. We agree packaging, palletisation and incoterms before the order is placed, not afterwards. Our international shipping page covers what we need from you.
  3. Documentation. We prepare the paperwork your freight forwarder and customs broker will require for the destination country.

What we do not claim

Plenty of suppliers in this industry publish yield figures, certifications and statistics that cannot be checked. We would rather this site contained fewer claims that are all verifiable than a longer list that is not.

We also do not give agronomic prescriptions. We can tell you which NPK grade suits a fruiting crop, and why a chloride-free potassium source matters on saline water. What rate to apply to your specific crop in your specific season is a decision for you and your agronomist, working from your own soil and tissue analysis and your local regulations.
